Are you attending the ACS National Meeting in Denver? Do you need some financial help? The Louisiana Section of the ACS has travel awards available for the Spring 2015 ACS National Meeting in Denver in March 2015. These awards are designed for undergraduates and graduate students who are going to be presenting their research work at the meeting. The rules for applying for the awards are below.
Travel Award Rules
Deadlines for Travel Awards:
February 27, 2015 for the ACS Spring Denver meeting.
Amount of each award: $400.
Criteria for applying for the awards:
1) Student must be presenting at the meeting
2) Student must not have received a prior travel award from the Louisiana Section of the ACS
3) Awarding of the travel grant will be based on the first two criteria, timing of the request, and other factors as needed.
If there are multiple applications that meet the criteria, other criteria (such as the order the request was received and prior award to other members of the group) will be used in awarding the travel grant. Travel awards may be split amongst equally qualified students.
If for some reason, travel cannot be made, the money must be refunded to the Louisiana Local Section of the ACS.
Exceptions will be examined on a case by case basis.
If possible, pictures or other media should be sent to us so we can publicize our sponsored students at the meeting.
TO APPLY FOR THE AWARD
Send an email to the Awards Chair of the Section, Sean Hickey ([email protected]), stating your name, your professor's name and your school affiliation. Also include your accepted abstract for your presentation at the Spring 2015 meeting.
Again, DEADLINE is February 27, 2015 for consideration for these awards. Don’t procrastinate. Apply for it now!
